Maths

Practising early maths concepts like one-to-one correspondence, counting, sorting, and number recognition is important because it helps children build confidence and real understanding by connecting numbers to the quantities and patterns they see in everyday life. Using natural and open-ended materials—such as leaves, sticks, stones, or recycled items—encourages curiosity because there are lots of ways to play, explore, and explain (“How many now?”, “What’s the same?”, “How could we group these?”), while also supporting sustainability by reusing materials and reducing waste.

Our products are carefully chosen to support these skills through hands-on, playful learning experiences that encourage children to count accurately, sort thoughtfully, and spot numbers in meaningful ways. Each activity is designed to be flexible and engaging, so children can learn through discovery at their own pace.
